CAE sealed self-aligning roller bearing (prefix SC) has steel skeleton contacting sealing element on both sides, which are made of grease proofing and wearable materials. The seals are made from materials below:
Butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber: suffix SUN
Hydrogenated butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber: suffix SUH
Fluororubber: suffix SUF
Seals are equipped into the groove of the outer ring, and adjoin inner ring. Sealed self-aligning roller bearing takes lubrication with it, and can’t be rinsed before installation. In many situations of application, the bearing don’t need to supplement lubrication, and can be seen as maintenance free bearing.
CAE suggests to heat the self-aligning roller bearing within 80℃ during installation. If there’s need to reach higher temperature, please make certain that it won’t surpass the allowable temperature of seals or lubricating grease (take low temperature as the criterion).
Attention: Fluororubber (FKM) made seals will jeopardize health and environment on open fire or under high temperature above 300℃. The risk exists even after they are cooled down.
